Betcha Can’t Pick Just One!
Eee! Another one of my favorite Etsy shops is Spectrum Cosmetics! I’ve been wanting to post this one for awhile but I just had to wait for my latest order to come on in and since it came today, let’s get to it!
Erica at Spectrum makes some seriously ridiculously unbelievable cosmetics that I’m just obsessed with. The eye shadows are my weakness! Let me hit ya with some swatches!
Green Man: I have no idea why it looks as light as it does in this picture but you’ll have to trust me that this is a medium very slightly teal tinged matte green.
Brunswick: Dark matte kelly green
Shamrock: It looks a little brownish in the picture but Shamrock is a clover green with a bold gold shimmer.
Spearmint: Shimmering, glowing mint green
Wicked: Green apple matte green
Oscar: A darker version of a shimmering sea foam green
Pollen: Matte mustardy yellow
Submarine: Bright matte canary yellow
Brick: Shimmering brick red
Blood Bath: Matte medium red, leans slightly pink
Geranium: Matte medium pink, leans very slightly into an orange based pink
Shocking: Matte bright, shocking pink
Ferric: Deep matte navy
Merlin: Purpley periwinkle with a fine reddish pink shimmer
Overcast: Light matte gray
Key Lime: Light shimmering yellow lime green
Envy: Shimmering emerald
Forrestry: Dark shimmering jade
The Iridescent Collections are high up on my list of favorites Spectrum Cosmetics has to offer. Unfortunately, my camera just wasn’t cooperating when trying to capture just how interesting these goodies are! When in the container, to the naked eye, they look like your average white shadows – but you have no idea! They offer a shimmering, almost glow effect to your shadow. I personally like to layer them over other shadow shades to give the look a different dimension. And as a highlight? Oh please, you gotta get these!
And here are my goodies that I just got today
Lemon: Shimmering bright yellow
Fort Knox: Metallic coppery gold
Mystic: Medium reddish brown with shimmering green highlight
Sugar Plum: Shimmering mauvey cranberry, some slight silver shimmer
Dementia: Deep soft shimmering plum
Siren: Blackened soft shimmering grape
Application on all of these loose shadows is wonderful. Matte shadows are always a little tricky, regardless of the manufacture. I feel as though they should be scooped and patted onto the lid instead of any type of swiping. Shimmers and metallics are out of this world! The colors and formula of these shadows can be compared to any of your favorite high end retailers. Seriously, these are ridiculous – you’re going to have to start your hoard of shades right now!
Erica from Spectrum offers an array of products, not just shadows! Shadow, lip gloss, perfume, lotion, soap, cologne, scrubs, foundations, and just a ton of other beauty products! Currently she has 673 items listed! I honestly need to branch out and give more of them a try – but I just get so distracted by the shadows! 3 or 5 gram containers sell for between $3-$6! Such a deal!
